Bon Jovi fans were left disappointed Thursday night after the legendary rock band was forced to end its Madison Square Garden concert early when Jon Bon Jovi revealed he was battling a sinus infection.
The band had been performing for about 90 minutes when Bon Jovi addressed the crowd, explaining that he wasn’t feeling well enough to continue. Before leaving the stage, he apologized to fans and asked everyone to hold onto their tickets as the band plans to make things right with a future date.
The unexpected ending comes during an especially meaningful chapter in Bon Jovi’s career. After undergoing vocal cord surgery and spending years working to regain his voice, the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer recently returned to touring and has spoken openly about how much being back on stage means to him.
Even with the shortened set, fans still got to hear several of the band’s biggest hits, including “Livin’ on a Prayer,” before the show came to an early close.
Fans quickly took to social media to wish the singer a speedy recovery, with many praising him for putting his health first after everything he’s overcome.
According to People, Bon Jovi told the audience to keep their ticket stubs while plans are made to reschedule the remainder of the concert.
