Ariana Grande will no longer be appearing in American Horror Story Season 13 after unexpectedly stepping away from the project because of scheduling conflicts.
Fans were excited when Grande was announced as part of the cast, marking what would have been her first appearance in the long-running horror series. She was also set to reunite with creator Ryan Murphy after previously working together on Scream Queens.
According to People, production for the new season was pushed to the summer, creating a conflict with Ariana’s ongoing Eternal Sunshine Tour. With the two schedules overlapping, she was forced to leave the project before filming any of her scenes.
The upcoming season is still expected to feature several fan-favorite cast members, including Sarah Paulson, Jessica Lange, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, and Emma Roberts. Season 13 is currently scheduled to premiere on September 24.
While many fans were disappointed by the news, others were quick to point out that Grande has had an incredibly busy year balancing music and acting. Even though she won’t be appearing in American Horror Story, she still has several major projects on the horizon.
